Materials
In La Casa del Arroyo, form is at the same time structure. And this structure is shown naked, in its authentic quality: the concrete that constitutes it is exposed, hammered and chemically treated. Form, structure and quality are therefore one thing here.
The reinforced concrete used in the work was tested in the laboratory so that it could resist climatic deterioration without maintenance. On its external face it is hammered and chemically treated to leave it outdoors without covering it. Williams did not want to cover up the honesty of the materials with artifice. It is used to generate a more resistant structure.
The use of glass windows allows the entry of natural light and a view towards nature, as well as allowing the exterior space to enter the interior space.

FLOOR PLAN MARKING THE DIFFERENT MATERIALS
Between his father's music studio and the dining room, the architect designed a folding door that takes aeronautical technology as a concept, made up of wooden plates covered in olive-colored descarne horn, a material probably used for acoustic reasons, in addition to also using linoleum, bronze perimeter slats and bronze piano hinges.
The interior of the house is almost entirely made of wood. All this construction was carried out and assembled as a whole in a carpentry workshop, then it was disassembled and taken to the site where it was finally assembled. Amancio Williams carried out this work not only as an architect but also as a builder and foreman.
On the ground floor, two entrances are located at the support points of the arch that crosses the stream. The transparency of this access contributes to the visual lightness of the work. The steps accompany the development of the arch, which generates a staircase in which the elevations decrease in height as one goes up. The floors, except in the bathrooms, are red carob cobblestones. All the stairs, countertops and bathrooms were lined with reconstituted granite, and all the light fixtures designed by Amancio Williams, almost always in bronze and opaline glass.
The closets in the bedrooms were made of cedar plywood with walnut edge guards. With sliding doors and several storage compartments. On these, a thin reinforced concrete cover was generated, which served as a base for the placement of luminaires. Hidden in the closets is the drive device for opening both the skylights and the natural light control awnings. Device that worked by means of bearings, tensioners and pulleys.
The living room, located at the eastern end, was simply decorated, following the guidelines of the other spaces. It is equivalent to the traditional Creole gallery, a meeting place and experience. His organization revolves around a lyre-shaped fireplace, designed by Amancio Williams. Said hearth made of sheet iron was conceived with an ash receiver to facilitate cleaning. The warmth of the space is accentuated by the use of interior wooden partitions.
The house was furnished with simplicity and without unnecessary ornaments, where those built by Amancio Williams himself stand out.
