The park, a green lung in the centre of town covers a couple of blocks and it is crossed by the stream Las Chacras, watershed that gave rise to the foundation of the city.

The land is divided in two and the house is the union of the two parts, it is located on its main feature. It is a multi-patrimonial space as an active enviromental reserve which hosts multiple species of wild flora and fauna

Its climate is similar to that of western Europe, with abundant rainfall throughout the year.

As Magalí Marazzo (Director at the Secretariat of Works and Urban Planning and responsible for the Casa sobre el Arroyo Museum. ) said, "Es la primera casa que se hace para un parque y no el parque para la casa”, it is the first house that is made for a park and not the park for the house.

She also said that the whole environment of the house was taken into account, every last tree on the site was respected so that the house could be built in the space that nature allowed. The park and the house are an indissoluble unity between nature and architecture
