La Casa sobre el Arroyo was designed by Delfina and Amancio Williams and commissioned by his father, the musician Alberto Williams as a relaxing place for living in the middle of the nature and compose.
The history of this house starts in 1942, when the first hectare was bought by the Williams' family, here, it was built the studio and residence for Alberto Williams and his wife Irma Paats, it also was built a house on the adjoining block for Alberto's son, Mario Williams.
In 1948, the secon hectare was bought to ampliate the green space around the house.
With the dead of Alberto Williams in 1952, the property is inherited by Amancio's daughter, and she lives there until she sells it in 1968 to Héctor Lago Beitía.
In that moment, the amplitude modulated radio station LU9 is installed, it worked there from 1970 to 1977 due to the goverment closed it down. The house was cared by Héctor Lago Beitía until he dies in 1991.
In the following 13 years the house was damaged by two fires, destruction and vandalism.
After all this years, eventually, in 2005, the Municipalidad de Gral, Pueyrredón put up a wire fence on the boundaries of the site.
In 2012, the town bought the 60% of the "park" including the "Casa sobre el Arroyo" and the service pabillion for setting up the actual Museo Casa sobre el Arroyo.
In 2014, the restoration works started in the service pabillion. This process also includes Museum tasks such as guided tours for all publics. bird watching or music cycles for instance
During 2014, 2015 the watercourse of the Arroyo "Las Chacras", was restaured, with the help of the Sanitary works of Mar del Plata workers
By the end of 2015 the Casa sobre el Arroyo Museum was nominated to International Awards of the CICOP foundation in the cathegory of "Conservation of the architectural heritage"
In 2016 it was declared a National Historic Artistic Monument.
In 2021, the restoration works of the house were awarded, with an investment of just over 42,100,000.00 Argentinean pesos from the National Treasury.
The restoration was not completed until December 2022.
